With a heavy heart we must share that Nigel, our spry Northern Saw-whet raptor ambassador, passed in late June. Nigel came to us in 2010 from Livingston, MT suffering from a injury to his shoulder from a window collision. The injury to his shoulder left his wing immobile so Nigel was not able to fly and survive in the wild. His recovery after such a traumatic experience isn’t just unique—it’s remarkable. Over the years he’s inspired wonder in hundreds of children and adults about the lives of our avian friends. While we our saddened by this lost, we can’t begin to express how thankful we are for getting to share the last five years with him. He will be greatly missed but his spirit will continue to soar through our mission for many years to come.
