k hawk

Meet our  Krider’s Hawk. She is in training and should soon be seen at our educational events.

The Krider’s Hawk is a pale, distinct population of Red-tailed Hawks. Noted for its white head and tail, the Krider’s Hawk is a resident of the Great Plains.

This is the first Krider’s Hawk rescued by MRCC, and Director Becky Kean indicates it’s the first one she’s ever seen. These birds have never been recorded west of the Rocky Mountains.

The rescue bird above is currently receiving rehabilitation at MRCC for an injured wing (cause of injury unknown).

A great online resource for more information about Krider’s Hawks.
