Educational Talk

Educational Coordinator Loy Maierhauser leads talk with Swainson’s hawk.

Loy Maierhauser started working with raptors when she was 14, doing bird shows at her family’s business. In college, Loy began volunteering at the Cascades Raptor Center in Eugene, Oregon, where she joined the Education Team, and presented programs to the community. Since leaving Eugene, Loy has been working in elementary education as a teacher and an instructional coach, and just recently moved to Montana in July 2014. When she’s not working with birds, you can find Loy running, climbing, or just exploring the beauty of the Gallatin Valley.
